The Moon Said To Live A Little Lighter, Breath A Little Deeper, 2023
watercolour on frosted mylar
22” x 22”
Framed in maple (24” x 24”)
Michaela Lucio’s painting The Moon Said to Live a Little Lighter, to Breath a Little Deeper features a three-generational family portrait of her maternal family line. The moon’s light shines its silent feminine wisdom over the four women, each representing the cycle of life stages from infancy to motherhood. Just as the moon guides us through time, Lucio pays tribute to the countless hours of care, love, and labour gifted to her, showing the way from childhood to adulthood.
